This report analyzed 261 schools in the Plains States Region to see which ones were the most popular undergraduate certificate programs for trade school students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named Wichita Technical Institute the most popular school in the Plains States Region for trade school students working on their undergraduate certificate. Wichita, Kansas is the setting for this very small institution of higher learning. The private for-profit school handed out undergraduate certificates to 540 students in 2021-2022.
On average, undergraduate certificate students take out $15,581 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 41% of those degree recipients were women.

MTI - Springfield, Missouri is a private for-profit institution located in Springfield, Missouri. The school has a very small population, and it awarded 249 undergraduate certificates in 2021-2022.
On average, undergraduate certificate students take out $8,968 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 46% were women.

Western Iowa Tech Community College came in at #8 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Undergraduate Certificate Trade Schools in the Plains States Region ranking.
