You can choose a traditional brick and mortar school, or with the growth of online education, you can attend a school half-way across the country without even leaving your house.
To assist you in seeing some of the education options that are available to you, Trade College Search has created its Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in the New England Region ranking. This report analyzed 76 schools in the New England Region to see which ones were the most popular associate degree programs for trade school students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our analysis found New England Institute of Technology to be the most popular school for trade school students who want to pursue a associate degree in the New England Region . New England Tech is located in East Greenwich, Rhode Island and has a small student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 418 associate degrees to qualified students.
If you want to attend New England Tech, expect to pay an average of $32,807 in tuition and fees. Of course, this could be reduced if you receive financial aid. On average, associate degree students take out $19,275 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 33% of those degree recipients were women.

JWU Providence is a medium-sized private not-for-profit school situated in Providence, Rhode Island. It awarded 300 associate degrees in 2020-2021.
If you want to attend JWU Providence, expect to pay an average of $35,950 in tuition and fees. Of course, this could be reduced if you receive financial aid. On average, associate degree students take out $17,376 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 69% were women.
JWU Providence does have options available for those who want to take online classes. You will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your specific major. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 28% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2019-2020.
You’ll be in good company if you attend Springfield Technical Community College. The school came in at #3 on this year’s Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in the New England Region list. Located in Springfield, Massachusetts, the small public school handed out 273 associate degree awards in 2020-2021.
Students from Massachusetts who attend STCC full time pay an average of $5,520 in tuition and fees. Out-of-state students pay an average of $10,728. On average, associate degree students take out $11,475 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 54% of those degree recipients were women.
You may have the opportunity to take online classes at STCC. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 93% took at least some of their classes online.
You’ll be in good company if you attend North Shore Community College. The school came in at #4 on this year’s Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in the New England Region list. Located in Danvers, Massachusetts, the small public school handed out 261 associate degree awards in 2020-2021.
In-state students pay an average of $5,352 in tuition and fees if they attend North Shore Community College full time. Out-of-state students pay an average of $10,920. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $15,244 in student loans. Around 62% of those degree recipients were women.

A rank of #5 on this year’s list means Southern Maine Community College is a great place for trade school students working on their associate degree. SMCC is a medium-sized public school situated in South Portland, Maine. It awarded 227 associate degrees in 2020-2021.
Students from Maine who attend SMCC full time pay an average of $3,874 in tuition and fees. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $6,754. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $16,222 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 51% were women.

NHTI-Concord’s Community College came in at #6 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in the New England Region ranking. NHTI is a small public school situated in Concord, New Hampshire. It awarded 196 associate degrees in 2020-2021.
Full-time students from New Hampshire pay an average of $7,200 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend NHTI. Out-of-state students pay an average of $15,450. Associate Degree recipients from NHTI accumulate an average of $19,718 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 57% were women.

With a ranking of #7, Southern New Hampshire University did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their associate degree. This large private not-for-profit school is located in Manchester, New Hampshire, and it awarded 450 associate degrees in 2020-2021.
The average tuition and fees at SNHU is $15,380. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid. On average, associate degree students take out $22,352 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 69% were women.
One thing to take note of is that SNHU does offer online classes in some areas. During the 2019-2020 year, about 96% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
Community College of Rhode Island ranked #8 on this year’s Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in the New England Region list. Community College of Rhode Island is a fairly large public school located in Warwick, Rhode Island that handed out 223 associate degrees in 2020-2021.
In-state students pay an average of $4,980 in tuition and fees if they attend CCRI full time. Out-of-state students pay an average of $13,260. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $15,624 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 52% were women.
Online courses are available at CCRI, but you will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your field of interest. During the 2019-2020 year, about 95% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
Kennebec Valley Community College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get an associate degree. It came in at #9 on the list. Kennebec Valley Community College is a small public school situated in Fairfield, Maine. It awarded 144 associate degrees in 2020-2021.

Gateway Community College landed the #12 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular associate degree trade school programs. Located in New Haven, Connecticut, the medium-sized public school handed out 132 associate degree awards in 2020-2021.
In-state students pay an average of $4,496 in tuition and fees if they attend Gateway Community College full time. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $13,448. On average, associate degree students take out $10,572 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 60% were women.

Naugatuck Valley Community College ranked #13 on this year’s Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in the New England Region list. This small public school is located in Waterbury, Connecticut, and it awarded 136 associate degrees in 2020-2021.

Bunker Hill Community College came in at #16 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in the New England Region ranking. This medium-sized public school is located in Boston, Massachusetts, and it awarded 191 associate degrees in 2020-2021.
Students from Massachusetts who attend BHCC full time pay an average of $5,280 in tuition and fees. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $10,224. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $11,991 in student loans. Around 60% of those degree recipients were women.

With a ranking of #18, Goodwin College did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their associate degree. Located in East Hartford, Connecticut, the small private not-for-profit school handed out 109 associate degree awards in 2020-2021.

Northern Essex Community College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get an associate degree. It came in at #19 on the list. NECC is located in Haverhill, Massachusetts and has a small student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 120 associate degrees to qualified students.

Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology is a very small private not-for-profit school located in Boston, Massachusetts that handed out 81 associate degrees in 2020-2021.
BFIT does not offer a discount to in-state students, so the average tuition and fees for all undergraduates is $17,550. This amount may be reduced if you receive financial aid. On average, associate degree students take out $19,319 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 22% were women.

Roxbury Community College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get an associate degree. It came in at #24 on the list. Roxbury Community College is a public institution located in Roxbury Crossing, Massachusetts. The school has a small population, and it awarded 87 associate degrees in 2020-2021.
