There are so many trade school programs in today's world that it can tough to figure out which one is the right one for you. You can choose a traditional brick and mortar school, or with the growth of online education, you can attend a school half-way across the country without even leaving your house.
To assist you in seeing some of the education options that are available to you, Trade College Search has created its Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in the New England Region ranking. This report analyzed 76 schools in the New England Region to see which ones were the most popular associate degree programs for trade school students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named New England Institute of Technology the most popular school in the New England Region for trade school students working on their associate degree. Located in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, the small private not-for-profit school awarded 537 diplomas to qualifed associate degree students in 2021-2022.
If you don’t receive financial aid, you can expect a bill for $33,900 to cover tuition and fees at New England Tech. The school does not offer an in-state discount. Associate Degree recipients from New England Tech accumulate an average of $17,029 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Around 43% of those degree recipients were women.
Depending on your major, you may be able to take online classes at New England Tech. During the 2020-2021 year, about 38% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
A rank of #2 on this year’s list means Johnson & Wales University - Providence is a great place for trade school students working on their associate degree. Located in Providence, Rhode Island, the small private not-for-profit school handed out 377 associate degree awards in 2021-2022.
If you don’t receive financial aid, you can expect a bill for $38,096 to cover tuition and fees at JWU Providence. The school does not offer an in-state discount. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $16,236 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 70% were women.
JWU Providence does have options available for those who want to take online classes. You will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your specific major. In fact, around 24% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2020-2021.
A rank of #3 on this year’s list means Springfield Technical Community College is a great place for trade school students working on their associate degree. Springfield Technical Community College is a small public school located in Springfield, Massachusetts that handed out 719 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at STCC is $5,520. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $10,728. Associate Degree recipients from STCC accumulate an average of $7,676 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Around 60% of those degree recipients were women.
Depending on your major, you may be able to take online classes at STCC. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 91% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2020-2021.
You’ll be in good company if you attend North Shore Community College. The school came in at #4 on this year’s Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in the New England Region list. North Shore Community College is a public institution located in Danvers, Massachusetts. The school has a small population, and it awarded 734 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
Students from Massachusetts who attend North Shore Community College full time pay an average of $5,352 in tuition and fees. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $10,920. On average, associate degree students take out $12,225 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 65% were women.
North Shore Community College does have options available for those who want to take online classes. You will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your specific major. In 2020-2021 about 86% of the undergraduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
A rank of #5 on this year’s list means Southern Maine Community College is a great place for trade school students working on their associate degree. South Portland, Maine is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associate degrees to 721 students in 2021-2022.
Students from Maine who attend SMCC full time pay an average of $3,797 in tuition and fees. Out-of-state students pay an average of $6,677. Associate Degree recipients from SMCC accumulate an average of $12,655 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Around 55% of those degree recipients were women.
You may have the opportunity to take online classes at SMCC. During the 2020-2021 year, about 71% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
NHTI-Concord’s Community College ranked #6 on this year’s Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in the New England Region list. NHTI is a small public school situated in Concord, New Hampshire. It awarded 519 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $7,200 in tuition and fees if they attend NHTI full time. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $15,450. Associate Degree recipients from NHTI accumulate an average of $16,658 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 66% were women.
Depending on your major, you may be able to take online classes at NHTI. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 54% took at least some of their classes online.
Southern New Hampshire University landed the #7 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular associate degree trade school programs. Located in Manchester, New Hampshire, the large private not-for-profit school awarded 3,321 diplomas to qualifed associate degree students in 2021-2022.
If you don’t receive financial aid, you can expect a bill for $15,380 to cover tuition and fees at SNHU. The school does not offer an in-state discount. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $17,725 in student loans. Around 60% of those degree recipients were women.
Depending on your major, you may be able to take online classes at SNHU. In fact, around 96% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2020-2021.
With a ranking of #8, Community College of Rhode Island did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their associate degree. Warwick, Rhode Island is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associate degrees to 1,926 students in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $5,090 in tuition and fees if they attend CCRI full time. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $13,552. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $13,250 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 63% were women.
CCRI does offer online classes for certain degree levels. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 63% took at least some of their classes online.
With a ranking of #9, Kennebec Valley Community College did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their associate degree. Kennebec Valley Community College is a small public school located in Fairfield, Maine that handed out 238 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $3,687 in tuition and fees if they attend Kennebec Valley Community College full time. Out-of-state students pay an average of $6,567. On average, associate degree students take out $15,786 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 71% were women.

Middlesex Community College ranked #10 on this year’s Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in the New England Region list. Located in Bedford, Massachusetts, the medium-sized public school awarded 727 diplomas to qualifed associate degree students in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from Massachusetts pay an average of $6,098 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend Middlesex Community College. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $12,170. Associate Degree recipients from Middlesex Community College accumulate an average of $9,676 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Around 59% of those degree recipients were women.

Quinsigamond Community College came in at #11 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in the New England Region ranking. This medium-sized public school is located in Worcester, Massachusetts, and it awarded 898 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
Students from Massachusetts who attend Quinsigamond Community College full time pay an average of $5,830 in tuition and fees. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $10,774. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $17,562 in student loans. Around 63% of those degree recipients were women.

Gateway Community College ranked #12 on this year’s Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in the New England Region list. Located in New Haven, Connecticut, the medium-sized public school handed out 604 associate degree awards in 2021-2022.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at Gateway Community College is $4,740. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $14,140. Associate Degree recipients from Gateway Community College accumulate an average of $6,908 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. With a ranking of #13, Naugatuck Valley Community College did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their associate degree. Naugatuck Valley Community College is located in Waterbury, Connecticut and has a small student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 567 associate degrees to qualified students.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at Naugatuck Valley Community College is $4,740. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $14,140. Eastern Maine Community College landed the #16 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular associate degree trade school programs. Bangor, Maine is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associate degrees to 281 students in 2021-2022.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at Eastern Maine Community College is $3,877. Out-of-state students pay an average of $6,757. Associate Degree recipients from Eastern Maine Community College accumulate an average of $16,692 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Associate Degree recipients from BHCC accumulate an average of $11,644 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 61% were women.

Goodwin College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get an associate degree. It came in at #18 on the list. Located in East Hartford, Connecticut, the small private not-for-profit school handed out 504 associate degree awards in 2021-2022.
The average tuition and fees at Goodwin is $21,188. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid. On average, associate degree students take out $26,020 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 89% of those degree recipients were women.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since Goodwin does offer online classes for certain majors. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 73% took at least some of their classes online.
Northern Essex Community College landed the #19 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular associate degree trade school programs. Located in Haverhill, Massachusetts, the small public school awarded 470 diplomas to qualifed associate degree students in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from Massachusetts pay an average of $5,688 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend NECC. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $11,472. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $12,741 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 62% were women.
NECC does offer online classes for certain degree levels. In 2020-2021 about 95% of the undergraduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
Manchester Community College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get an associate degree. It came in at #20 on the list. MCC is a public institution located in Manchester, New Hampshire. The school has a small population, and it awarded 333 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from New Hampshire pay an average of $7,090 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend MCC. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $15,340. On average, associate degree students take out $14,985 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 52% were women.

With a ranking of #21, Central Maine Community College did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their associate degree. Central Maine Community College is a small public school located in Auburn, Maine that handed out 316 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at Central Maine Technical College is $3,760. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $6,640. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $14,524 in student loans. Around 60% of those degree recipients were women.

Vermont Technical College came in at #22 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in the New England Region ranking. Vermont Tech is a small public school situated in Randolph, Vermont. It awarded 275 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from Vermont pay an average of $15,546 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend Vermont Tech. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $29,502. On average, associate degree students take out $15,886 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 68% of those degree recipients were women.
Vermont Tech does offer online classes for certain degree levels. During the 2020-2021 year, about 41% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
With a ranking of #22, Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their associate degree. This very small private not-for-profit school is located in Boston, Massachusetts, and it awarded 65 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
The average tuition and fees at BFIT is $17,550. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $16,139 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 26% were women.
Some students may be able to take online classes at BFIT. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 96% took at least some of their classes online.

Roxbury Community College landed the #24 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular associate degree trade school programs. Roxbury Community College is a small public school situated in Roxbury Crossing, Massachusetts. It awarded 133 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
