To help you arm yourself with the information you need to make your decision, Trade College Search has developed this Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region ranking. This report analyzed 232 schools in the Middle Atlantic Region to see which ones were the most popular associate degree programs for trade school students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our analysis found Culinary Institute of America to be the most popular school for trade school students who want to pursue a associate degree in the Middle Atlantic Region . The Culinary Institute of America is located in Hyde Park, New York and has a small student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 564 associate degrees to qualified students.
The average tuition and fees at The Culinary Institute of America is $36,620. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $12,958 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 47% were women.

The excellent associate degree programs at New York City College of Technology helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular trade school schools in the Middle Atlantic Region . Located in Brooklyn, New York, the fairly large public school awarded 1,252 diplomas to qualifed associate degree students in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $7,320 in tuition and fees if they attend City Tech full time. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $15,270. On average, associate degree students take out $10,175 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 51% of those degree recipients were women.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since City Tech does offer online classes for certain majors. In fact, around 96% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2020-2021.
You’ll be in good company if you attend Pennsylvania College of Technology. The school came in at #3 on this year’s Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region list. Penn College is located in Williamsport, Pennsylvania and has a small student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 711 associate degrees to qualified students.
Full-time students from Pennsylvania pay an average of $17,940 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend Penn College. Out-of-state students pay an average of $25,680. Associate Degree recipients from Penn College accumulate an average of $20,551 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Around 34% of those degree recipients were women.

A rank of #4 on this year’s list means Community College of Philadelphia is a great place for trade school students working on their associate degree. This fairly large public school is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and it awarded 1,815 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from Pennsylvania pay an average of $8,688 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend Community College of Philadelphia. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $12,744. On average, associate degree students take out $12,811 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 70% were women.
Community College of Philadelphia does offer online classes for certain degree levels. During the 2020-2021 year, about 97% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
Out of the 232 schools in the Middle Atlantic Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Alfred State College landed the # 5 spot on the list. Located in Alfred, New York, the small public school awarded 687 diplomas to qualifed associate degree students in 2021-2022.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at Alfred State is $8,862. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $15,942. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $14,985 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 37% were women.
One thing to take note of is that Alfred State does offer online classes in some areas. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 34% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2020-2021.
Hudson Valley Community College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get an associate degree. It came in at #6 on the list. Troy, New York is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associate degrees to 1,310 students in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $6,018 in tuition and fees if they attend HVCC full time. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $10,818. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $11,714 in student loans. Around 49% of those degree recipients were women.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since HVCC does offer online classes for certain majors. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 66% took at least some of their classes online.
Queensborough Community College came in at #7 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region ranking. QCC is located in Bayside, New York and has a medium-sized student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 1,863 associate degrees to qualified students.
Students from New York who attend QCC full time pay an average of $5,210 in tuition and fees. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $8,090. On average, associate degree students take out $10,978 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 60% of those degree recipients were women.

Community College of Allegheny County came in at #8 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region ranking. CCAC is a fairly large public school situated in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It awarded 2,027 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $8,563 in tuition and fees if they attend CCAC full time. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $12,223. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $14,588 in student loans. Around 64% of those degree recipients were women.

Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology is located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and has a small student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 412 associate degrees to qualified students.

With a ranking of #13, SUNY Broome did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their associate degree. Binghamton, New York is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associate degrees to 680 students in 2021-2022.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at SUNY Broome is $6,704. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $11,984. Associate Degree recipients from SUNY Broome accumulate an average of $14,343 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Around 65% of those degree recipients were women.

Erie Community College landed the #13 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular associate degree trade school programs. Erie Community College is a medium-sized public school situated in Buffalo, New York. It awarded 1,364 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at Erie Community College is $5,950. Out-of-state students pay an average of $11,150. Associate Degree recipients from Erie Community College accumulate an average of $10,690 in student debt by the time they complete their degree.
