This report analyzed 38 schools in the Middle Atlantic Region to see which ones had the most popular online associate degree programs for trade school students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from schools with online programs.

Our 2023 rankings named Excelsior University the most popular school in the Middle Atlantic Region for trade school students working on their associate degree. Located in Albany, New York, the fairly large private not-for-profit school handed out 1,240 associate degree awards in 2021-2022.
By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $12,110 in student loans. Around 60% of those degree recipients were women.
Interested in an online degree? Then you definitely want to check out Excelsior University. Every undergraduate student at the school took at least one class online.
You’ll be in good company if you attend Bryant & Stratton College - Online. The school came in at #2 on this year’s Most Popular Online Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region list. Located in Orchard Park, New York, the medium-sized private not-for-profit school handed out 902 associate degree awards in 2021-2022.
Bryant & Stratton College - Online does not offer a discount to in-state students, so the average tuition and fees for all undergraduates is $15,295. Full-time students from Maryland pay an average of $6,918 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend CCBC. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $10,062. Associate Degree recipients from CCBC accumulate an average of $16,045 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Around 65% of those degree recipients were women.
Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 68% took at least some of their classes online.
Kingsborough Community College ranked #14 on this year’s Most Popular Online Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region list. Located in Brooklyn, New York, the fairly large public school handed out 1,749 associate degree awards in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from New York pay an average of $5,252 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend KCC. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $8,132. On average, associate degree students take out $9,988 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 70% of those degree recipients were women.
Around 61% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2020-2021.
Reading Area Community College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get an associate degree. It came in at #21 on the list. Located in Reading, Pennsylvania, the small public school awarded 464 diplomas to qualifed associate degree students in 2021-2022.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at RACC is $10,470. Out-of-state students pay an average of $11,580. Associate Degree recipients from RACC accumulate an average of $16,472 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 68% were women.
Around 51% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2020-2021.
Raritan Valley Community College landed the #22 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular associate degree trade school programs. Raritan Valley Community College is a medium-sized public school located in Branchburg, New Jersey that handed out 1,068 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
If you want to attend RVCC, expect to pay an average of $7,296 in tuition and fees. Of course, this could be reduced if you receive financial aid. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $11,194 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 56% were women.

YTI Career Institute-York landed the #23 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular associate degree trade school programs. Located in York, Pennsylvania, the very small private for-profit school awarded 132 diplomas to qualifed associate degree students in 2021-2022.

With a ranking of #24, College of Southern Maryland did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their associate degree. CSM is a small public school situated in La Plata, Maryland. It awarded 910 associate degrees in 2021-2022.

The average in-state tuition and fees for students at MVCC is $5,776. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $8,211. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $12,709 in student loans. Around 58% of those degree recipients were women.
