To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from schools with online programs.

Our 2023 rankings named Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science Inc the most popular school in Pennsylvania for trade school students working on their associate degree. PIMS is a very small private not-for-profit school situated in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It awarded 81 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
Associate Degree recipients from PIMS accumulate an average of $17,391 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 67% were women.
Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 56% took at least some of their classes online.
You’ll be in good company if you attend Montgomery County Community College. The school came in at #2 on this year’s Most Popular Online Associate Degree Trade Schools in Pennsylvania list. Montco is a medium-sized public school situated in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. It awarded 1,253 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at Montco is $10,650. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $15,390. On average, associate degree students take out $13,849 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 63% of those degree recipients were women.

A rank of #3 on this year’s list means Harrisburg Area Community College is a great place for trade school students working on their associate degree. This fairly large public school is located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and it awarded 1,788 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
Students from Pennsylvania who attend HACC full time pay an average of $8,565 in tuition and fees. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $10,148. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $19,208 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 68% were women.
In 2020-2021 about 52% of the undergraduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
With a ranking of #6, Peirce College did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their associate degree. Located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the very small private not-for-profit school handed out 58 associate degree awards in 2021-2022.
If you want to attend Peirce, expect to pay an average of $15,060 in tuition and fees. Of course, this could be reduced if you receive financial aid. On average, associate degree students take out $28,584 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 76% of those degree recipients were women.
Since Peirce is primarily an online school, it is an excellent choice for undergraduate students who need more flexibility than what is offered at some other schools.
Reading Area Community College came in at #7 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Online Associate Degree Trade Schools in Pennsylvania ranking. RACC is a small public school situated in Reading, Pennsylvania. It awarded 464 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
Students from Pennsylvania who attend RACC full time pay an average of $10,470 in tuition and fees. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $11,580. On average, associate degree students take out $16,472 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 68% of those degree recipients were women.

YTI Career Institute-York ranked #8 on this year’s Most Popular Online Associate Degree Trade Schools in Pennsylvania list. Located in York, Pennsylvania, the very small private for-profit school handed out 132 associate degree awards in 2021-2022.
On average, associate degree students take out $16,892 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 65% of those degree recipients were women.

Harcum College came in at #9 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Online Associate Degree Trade Schools in Pennsylvania ranking. Harcum College is a private not-for-profit institution located in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. The school has a very small population, and it awarded 363 associate degrees in 2021-2022.

Pittsburgh Technical College does not offer a discount to in-state students, so the average tuition and fees for all undergraduates is $16,974. This amount may be reduced if you receive financial aid. On average, associate degree students take out $18,250 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 38% were women.
In 2020-2021 about 32% of the undergraduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
Johnson College came in at #11 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Online Associate Degree Trade Schools in Pennsylvania ranking. Johnson College is a private not-for-profit institution located in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The school has a very small population, and it awarded 161 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
The average tuition and fees at Johnson College is $20,025. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid. With a ranking of #13, Institute of Medical Careers did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their associate degree. Institute of Medical Careers is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and has a very small student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 132 associate degrees to qualified students.
