This report analyzed 16 schools in North Dakota to see which ones were the most popular undergraduate certificate programs for trade school students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our analysis found Bismarck State College to be the most popular school for trade school students who want to pursue a undergraduate certificate in North Dakota. Located in Bismarck, North Dakota, the small public school awarded 172 diplomas to qualifed undergraduate certificate students in 2021-2022.
Students from North Dakota who attend BSC full time pay an average of $5,143 in tuition and fees. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $7,227. Undergraduate Certificate recipients from BSC accumulate an average of $10,097 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 35% were women.

A rank of #3 on this year’s list means Lake Region State College is a great place for trade school students working on their undergraduate certificate. Located in Devils Lake, North Dakota, the small public school awarded 45 diplomas to qualifed undergraduate certificate students in 2021-2022.
If you don’t receive financial aid, you can expect a bill for $5,435 to cover tuition and fees at Lake Region State College. The school does not offer an in-state discount. By the time they get their undergraduate certificate, students from this school have racked up an average of $6,932 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 67% were women.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since Lake Region State College does offer online classes for certain majors. In fact, around 55% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2020-2021.
A rank of #4 on this year’s list means Williston State College is a great place for trade school students working on their undergraduate certificate. This very small public school is located in Williston, North Dakota, and it awarded 62 undergraduate certificates in 2021-2022.
The average tuition and fees at Williston State College is $5,768. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid. Undergraduate Certificate recipients from Williston State College accumulate an average of $14,073 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 73% were women.

The Hair Academy did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get an undergraduate certificate. It came in at #7 on the list. The Hair Academy is located in Bismarck, North Dakota and has a very small student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 36 undergraduate certificates to qualified students.
Around 100% of those degree recipients were women.
Rasmussen University - North Dakota landed the #8 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular undergraduate certificate trade school programs. Rasmussen University - North Dakota is a private for-profit institution located in Fargo, North Dakota. The school has a very small population, and it awarded 34 undergraduate certificates in 2021-2022.

With a ranking of #10, University of North Dakota did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their undergraduate certificate. UND is a fairly large public school situated in Grand Forks, North Dakota. It awarded 31 undergraduate certificates in 2021-2022.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at UND is $10,951. Out-of-state students pay an average of $15,570. Undergraduate Certificate recipients from UND accumulate an average of $10,922 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Around 71% of those degree recipients were women.

With a ranking of #11, Josef’s School of Hair, Skin & Body, Grand Forks did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their undergraduate certificate. Grand Forks, North Dakota is the setting for this very small institution of higher learning. The private for-profit school handed out undergraduate certificates to 18 students in 2021-2022.

Turtle Mountain Community College ranked #12 on this year’s Most Popular Undergraduate Certificate Trade Schools in North Dakota list. TMCC is located in Belcourt, North Dakota and has a very small student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 20 undergraduate certificates to qualified students.

United Tribes Technical College is a private not-for-profit institution located in Bismarck, North Dakota. The school has a very small population, and it awarded 5 undergraduate certificates in 2021-2022.
The average tuition and fees at United Tribes Technical College is $4,252. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid.
United Tribes Technical College does offer online classes for certain degree levels. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 28% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2020-2021.
Cankdeska Cikana Community College landed the #14 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular undergraduate certificate trade school programs. CCCC is located in Fort Totten, North Dakota and has a very small student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 6 undergraduate certificates to qualified students.
If you want to attend CCCC, expect to pay an average of $3,950 in tuition and fees. Of course, this could be reduced if you receive financial aid. Around 33% of those degree recipients were women.

Dickinson State University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get an undergraduate certificate. It came in at #15 on the list.
In-state students pay an average of $9,118 in tuition and fees if they attend DSU full time. Out-of-state students pay an average of $11,218.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since DSU does offer online classes for certain majors. In fact, around 59% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2020-2021.
With a ranking of #15, Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their undergraduate certificate. NHSC is a public institution located in New Town, North Dakota. The school has a very small population, and it awarded 5 undergraduate certificates in 2021-2022.
If you want to attend NHSC, expect to pay an average of $3,870 in tuition and fees. Of course, this could be reduced if you receive financial aid.
