To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named Ivy Tech Community College the most popular school in the Great Lakes Region for trade school students working on their undergraduate certificate. Located in Indianapolis, Indiana, the large public school awarded 4,287 diplomas to qualifed undergraduate certificate students in 2020-2021.
Full-time students from Indiana pay an average of $4,637 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend Ivy Tech Community College. Out-of-state students pay an average of $8,927. On average, undergraduate certificate students take out $15,607 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 47% were women.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since Ivy Tech Community College does offer online classes for certain majors. In 2019-2020 about 81% of the undergraduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
The excellent undergraduate certificate programs at DeVry University - Illinois helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular trade school schools in the Great Lakes Region . Located in Chicago, Illinois, the large private for-profit school awarded 1,991 diplomas to qualifed undergraduate certificate students in 2020-2021.
DeVry University - Illinois does not offer a discount to in-state students, so the average tuition and fees for all undergraduates is $15,032. This amount may be reduced if you receive financial aid. Undergraduate Certificate recipients from DeVry University - Illinois accumulate an average of $22,785 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. On average, undergraduate certificate students take out $12,146 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 49% of those degree recipients were women.
The excellent undergraduate certificate programs at Milwaukee Area Technical College helped the school earn the #4 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular trade school schools in the Great Lakes Region . Located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the fairly large public school awarded 658 diplomas to qualifed undergraduate certificate students in 2020-2021.

Chippewa Valley Technical College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get an undergraduate certificate. It came in at #8 on the list. CVTC is a public institution located in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The school has a medium-sized population, and it awarded 472 undergraduate certificates in 2020-2021.
In-state students pay an average of $4,568 in tuition and fees if they attend CVTC full time. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $6,683. Canton, Michigan is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private for-profit school handed out undergraduate certificates to 433 students in 2020-2021.
On average, undergraduate certificate students take out $15,129 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 7% were women.

Fox Valley Technical College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get an undergraduate certificate. It came in at #11 on the list. Appleton, Wisconsin is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out undergraduate certificates to 425 students in 2020-2021.
Students from Wisconsin who attend FVTC full time pay an average of $4,746 in tuition and fees. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $6,861. By the time they get their undergraduate certificate, students from this school have racked up an average of $12,693 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 50% were women.
FVTC does offer online classes for certain degree levels. In fact, around 42% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
Waukesha County Technical College ranked #12 on this year’s Most Popular Undergraduate Certificate Trade Schools in the Great Lakes Region list. Pewaukee, Wisconsin is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The public school handed out undergraduate certificates to 351 students in 2020-2021.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at WCTC is $4,488. Out-of-state students pay an average of $6,603. Undergraduate Certificate recipients from WCTC accumulate an average of $14,678 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Around 27% of those degree recipients were women.
Depending on your major, you may be able to take online classes at WCTC. In 2019-2020 about 17% of the undergraduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
With a ranking of #13, Madison Area Technical College did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their undergraduate certificate. Madison College is a public institution located in Madison, Wisconsin. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 346 undergraduate certificates in 2020-2021.
In-state students pay an average of $4,600 in tuition and fees if they attend Madison College full time. Out-of-state students pay an average of $6,769.
