Our analysis looked at 179 schools in Florida to see which basic certificate programs were the most popular for trade school students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

South Florida Institute of Technology is a small private for-profit school located in Miami, Florida that handed out 1,033 basic certificates in 2021-2022.
Of those students who received their degree, 31% were women.
South Florida Institute of Technology does have options available for those who want to take online classes. You will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your specific major. During the 2020-2021 year, about 9% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Valencia College. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Popular Basic Certificate Trade Schools in Florida list. Valencia College is a large public school located in Orlando, Florida that handed out 7,875 basic certificates in 2021-2022.

Students from Florida who attend HCC full time pay an average of $2,506 in tuition and fees. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $9,111. Around 60% of those degree recipients were women.

The average in-state tuition and fees for students at Indian River State College is $2,764. Out-of-state students pay an average of $10,201. Of those students who received their degree, 47% were women.

Praxis Institute ranked #10 on this year’s Most Popular Basic Certificate Trade Schools in Florida list. This very small private for-profit school is located in Miami, Florida, and it awarded 414 basic certificates in 2021-2022.
Of those students who received their degree, 55% were women.
Miami Dade College landed the #11 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular basic certificate trade school programs. This large public school is located in Miami, Florida, and it awarded 4,180 basic certificates in 2021-2022.
Students from Florida who attend MDC full time pay an average of $2,838 in tuition and fees. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $9,661. Around 54% of those degree recipients were women.

L3 Commercial Training Solutions Airline Academy is a private for-profit institution located in Sanford, Florida. Boca Raton, Florida is the setting for this very small institution of higher learning. The private for-profit school handed out basic certificates to 297 students in 2021-2022.

With a ranking of #16, La Belle Beauty Academy did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their basic certificate. La Belle Beauty Academy is a very small private for-profit school located in Miami, Florida that handed out 253 basic certificates in 2021-2022.

Celebrity School of Beauty did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get a basic certificate. It came in at #16 on the list. Located in Miami, Florida, the very small private for-profit school awarded 405 diplomas to qualifed basic certificate students in 2021-2022.
Of those students who received their degree, 98% were women.
With a ranking of #18, Eastern Florida State College did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their basic certificate. Located in Melbourne, Florida, the fairly large public school awarded 1,446 diplomas to qualifed basic certificate students in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $2,791 in tuition and fees if they attend EFSC full time. Out-of-state students pay an average of $10,976. Of those students who received their degree, 60% were women.

La Belle Beauty School landed the #19 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular basic certificate trade school programs. Located in Hialeah, Florida, the very small private for-profit school handed out 246 basic certificate awards in 2021-2022.

Daytona State College landed the #20 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular basic certificate trade school programs. Located in Daytona Beach, Florida, the fairly large public school handed out 511 basic certificate awards in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from Florida pay an average of $3,106 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend Daytona State College. Out-of-state students pay an average of $11,994. Around 40% of those degree recipients were women.
Daytona State College does offer online classes for certain degree levels. In fact, around 65% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2020-2021.
St Petersburg College ranked #20 on this year’s Most Popular Basic Certificate Trade Schools in Florida list. Located in St. Petersburg, Florida, the large public school awarded 1,190 diplomas to qualifed basic certificate students in 2021-2022.

Aveda Institute - Tallahassee did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get a basic certificate. It came in at #23 on the list. Located in Tallahassee, Florida, the very small private for-profit school awarded 278 diplomas to qualifed basic certificate students in 2021-2022.

With a ranking of #24, Hollywood Institute of Beauty Careers did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their basic certificate. Located in Hollywood, Florida, the very small private for-profit school awarded 264 diplomas to qualifed basic certificate students in 2021-2022.

Concorde Career Institute - Tampa ranked #25 on this year’s Most Popular Basic Certificate Trade Schools in Florida list. Located in Tampa, Florida, the very small private for-profit school awarded 228 diplomas to qualifed basic certificate students in 2021-2022.
