To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named Weber State University the most popular school in the Rocky Mountains Region for trade school students working on their associate degree. WSU is a public institution located in Ogden, Utah. The school has a large population, and it awarded 3,110 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from Utah pay an average of $6,391 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend WSU. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $17,084. On average, associate degree students take out $18,082 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 62% were women.
Some students may be able to take online classes at WSU. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 47% took at least some of their classes online.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Salt Lake Community College. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region list. This large public school is located in Salt Lake City, Utah, and it awarded 3,261 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at Salt Lake Community College is $4,257. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $13,701. Associate Degree recipients from Salt Lake Community College accumulate an average of $10,066 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. The excellent associate degree programs at Utah Valley University helped the school earn the #4 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular trade school schools in the Rocky Mountains Region . This large public school is located in Orem, Utah, and it awarded 4,917 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $6,270 in tuition and fees if they attend UVU full time. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $17,830. Associate Degree recipients from UVU accumulate an average of $12,562 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 49% were women.

Idaho State University ranked #8 on this year’s Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region list. This fairly large public school is located in Pocatello, Idaho, and it awarded 529 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from Idaho pay an average of $7,958 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend ISU. Out-of-state students pay an average of $25,936. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $22,532 in student loans. Around 57% of those degree recipients were women.
ISU does have options available for those who want to take online classes. You will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your specific major. In fact, around 54% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2020-2021.
Northern Wyoming Community College District came in at #9 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region ranking. Sheridan, Wyoming is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associate degrees to 472 students in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from Wyoming pay an average of $4,830 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend Northern Wyoming Community College District. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $11,130. On average, associate degree students take out $11,152 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 65% of those degree recipients were women.
One thing to take note of is that Northern Wyoming Community College District does offer online classes in some areas. In 2020-2021 about 37% of the undergraduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.

College of Western Idaho landed the #10 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular associate degree trade school programs. CWI is a public institution located in Nampa, Idaho. The school has a medium-sized population, and it awarded 1,040 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
On average, associate degree students take out $10,967 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 59% were women.

With a ranking of #13, Concorde Career College - Aurora did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their associate degree. Concorde Career College - Aurora is located in Aurora, Colorado and has a very small student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 159 associate degrees to qualified students.
On average, associate degree students take out $21,979 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 81% were women.
Concorde Career College - Aurora is primarily an online school, so it is a great choice for returning adults and students who work full time.
Intellitec College - Colorado Springs came in at #14 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region ranking. Intellitec College - Colorado Springs is a very small private for-profit school situated in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It awarded 72 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
On average, associate degree students take out $16,618 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 8% of those degree recipients were women.
Aims Community College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get an associate degree. It came in at #15 on the list. Greeley, Colorado is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associate degrees to 686 students in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from Colorado pay an average of $2,954 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend Aims Community College. Out-of-state students pay an average of $10,850. On average, associate degree students take out $10,156 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 60% were women.
You may have the opportunity to take online classes at Aims Community College. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 44% took at least some of their classes online.
Casper College came in at #16 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region ranking. Located in Casper, Wyoming, the small public school handed out 609 associate degree awards in 2021-2022.

Arapahoe Community College landed the #18 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular associate degree trade school programs. Arapahoe Community College is a public institution located in Littleton, Colorado. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 754 associate degrees in 2021-2022.

Front Range Community College ranked #20 on this year’s Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region list. FRCC is located in Westminster, Colorado and has a fairly large student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 1,906 associate degrees to qualified students.
