Our analysis found Boise State University to be the best school for trade school students who want to pursue a basic certificate in Idaho. Located in Boise, Idaho, the large public school handed out 629 basic certificate awards in 2021-2022.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at Boise State is $8,364. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $25,701.
Some students may be able to take online classes at Boise State. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 63% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2020-2021.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around you if you attend Idaho State University. The school came in at #2 on this year’s Best Basic Certificate Trade Schools in Idaho list. This fairly large public school is located in Pocatello, Idaho, and it awarded 140 basic certificates in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $7,958 in tuition and fees if they attend ISU full time. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $25,936.
You may have the opportunity to take online classes at ISU. In fact, around 54% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2020-2021.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around you if you attend Lewis - Clark State College. The school came in at #3 on this year’s Best Basic Certificate Trade Schools in Idaho list. Lewis - Clark State College is a small public school located in Lewiston, Idaho that handed out 44 basic certificates in 2021-2022.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since Lewis - Clark State College does offer online classes for certain majors. During the 2020-2021 year, about 51% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend College of Southern Idaho. It ranked #4 on our 2023 Best Basic Certificate Trade Schools in Idaho list. Located in Twin Falls, Idaho, the medium-sized public school handed out 280 basic certificate awards in 2021-2022.
One thing to take note of is that College of Southern Idaho does offer online classes in some areas. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 39% took at least some of their classes online.
The excellent basic certificate programs at College of Western Idaho helped the school earn the #5 place on this year’s ranking of the best trade school schools in Idaho. College of Western Idaho is a medium-sized public school located in Nampa, Idaho that handed out 228 basic certificates in 2021-2022.

North Idaho College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for trade school students to get a basic certificate. It came in at #6 on the list. Located in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, the small public school awarded 83 diplomas to qualifed basic certificate students in 2021-2022.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at NIC is $4,960. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $8,736.
NIC does offer online classes for certain degree levels. During the 2020-2021 year, about 72% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
