Our analysis looked at 70 schools in the Southwest Region to see which bachelor's degree programs offered the best educational experiences for trade school students.

Our 2023 rankings named Ottawa University - Phoenix the best school in the Southwest Region for trade school students working on their bachelor’s degree. Ottawa University - Phoenix is a very small private not-for-profit school located in Phoenix, Arizona that handed out 146 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
If you don’t receive financial aid, you can expect a bill for $13,341 to cover tuition and fees at Ottawa University - Phoenix. The school does not offer an in-state discount. You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around you if you attend Texas Wesleyan University. The school came in at #3 on this year’s Best Bachelor’s Degree Trade Schools in the Southwest Region list. Texas Wesleyan is a private not-for-profit institution located in Fort Worth, Texas. The school has a small population, and it awarded 341 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
If you want to attend Texas Wesleyan, expect to pay an average of $36,128 in tuition and fees. Of course, this could be reduced if you receive financial aid. On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $23,170 in loans while pursuing their degree.

Online courses are available at UT Austin, but you will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your field of interest. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 54% took at least some of their classes online.
With a ranking of #6, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University - Prescott did quite well on this year’s best schools for trade school students working on their bachelor’s degree. Prescott, Arizona is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out bachelor’s degrees to 542 students in 2021-2022.
The average tuition and fees at Embry-Riddle Prescott is $40,464. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid. MSU Texas came in at #7 in this year’s edition of the Best Bachelor’s Degree Trade Schools in the Southwest Region ranking. This medium-sized public school is located in Wichita Falls, Texas, and it awarded 1,172 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.

Students from Oklahoma who attend OSU Institute of Technology full time pay an average of $5,774 in tuition and fees. Out-of-state students pay an average of $11,384. Bachelor’s Degree recipients from OSU Institute of Technology accumulate an average of $17,537 in student debt by the time they complete their degree.

Eastern New Mexico University - Main Campus landed the #9 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best bachelor’s degree trade school programs. Located in Portales, New Mexico, the medium-sized public school handed out 729 bachelor’s degree awards in 2021-2022.

Texas Christian University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for trade school students to get a bachelor’s degree. It came in at #13 on the list. This fairly large private not-for-profit school is located in Fort Worth, Texas, and it awarded 2,529 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
If you want to attend TCU, expect to pay an average of $53,980 in tuition and fees. Of course, this could be reduced if you receive financial aid. On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $20,838 in loans while pursuing their degree.
University of Phoenix - Arizona came in at #14 in this year’s edition of the Best Bachelor’s Degree Trade Schools in the Southwest Region ranking. Phoenix, Arizona is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The private for-profit school handed out bachelor’s degrees to 11,763 students in 2021-2022.
On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $37,858 in loans while pursuing their degree.

University of Arizona ranked #15 on this year’s Best Bachelor’s Degree Trade Schools in the Southwest Region list. Located in Tucson, Arizona, the large public school awarded 8,003 diplomas to qualifed bachelor’s degree students in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $12,937 in tuition and fees if they attend University of Arizona full time. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $37,355. In-state students pay an average of $11,140 in tuition and fees if they attend UNT full time. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $20,932. Bachelor’s Degree recipients from UNT accumulate an average of $20,569 in student debt by the time they complete their degree.

Tarleton State University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for trade school students to get a bachelor’s degree. It came in at #24 on the list. Stephenville, Texas is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out bachelor’s degrees to 2,652 students in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $7,848 in tuition and fees if they attend Tarleton full time. Out-of-state students pay an average of $17,640. Bachelor’s Degree recipients from Tarleton accumulate an average of $20,718 in student debt by the time they complete their degree.

Lubbock Christian University came in at #25 in this year’s edition of the Best Bachelor’s Degree Trade Schools in the Southwest Region ranking. LCU is located in Lubbock, Texas and has a small student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 308 bachelor’s degrees to qualified students.
LCU does not offer a discount to in-state students, so the average tuition and fees for all undergraduates is $26,300. This amount may be reduced if you receive financial aid. Bachelor’s Degree recipients from LCU accumulate an average of $23,010 in student debt by the time they complete their degree.
