Our 2023 rankings named Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute the best school in New York for trade school students working on their bachelor’s degree. Located in Troy, New York, the medium-sized private not-for-profit school handed out 1,566 bachelor’s degree awards in 2021-2022.
The average tuition and fees at RPI is $60,074. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid. On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $22,160 in loans while pursuing their degree.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around you if you attend Wagner College. The school came in at #2 on this year’s Best Bachelor’s Degree Trade Schools in New York list. Located in Staten Island, New York, the small private not-for-profit school handed out 396 bachelor’s degree awards in 2021-2022.
If you want to attend Wagner, expect to pay an average of $51,260 in tuition and fees. Of course, this could be reduced if you receive financial aid. Bachelor’s Degree recipients from Wagner accumulate an average of $21,906 in student debt by the time they complete their degree.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around you if you attend Clarkson University. The school came in at #3 on this year’s Best Bachelor’s Degree Trade Schools in New York list. Potsdam, New York is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out bachelor’s degrees to 702 students in 2021-2022.
If you don’t receive financial aid, you can expect a bill for $56,258 to cover tuition and fees at Clarkson. The school does not offer an in-state discount. On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $23,260 in loans while pursuing their degree.
One thing to take note of is that Clarkson does offer online classes in some areas. In 2020-2021 about 16% of the undergraduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
A rank of #4 on this year’s list means The Graduate Center, CUNY is a great place for trade school students working on their bachelor’s degree. The Graduate Center is located in New York, New York and has a medium-sized student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 838 bachelor’s degrees to qualified students.
Full-time students from New York pay an average of $7,410 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend The Graduate Center. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $15,360. A rank of #5 on this year’s list means Excelsior University is a great place for trade school students working on their bachelor’s degree. Excelsior University is a fairly large private not-for-profit school located in Albany, New York that handed out 2,668 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $18,112 in loans while pursuing their degree.
If you are interested in distance education, Excelsior University is an excellent choice, since the school is online.
Touro College landed the #6 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best bachelor’s degree trade school programs. Touro is located in New York, New York and has a fairly large student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 1,354 bachelor’s degrees to qualified students.
Touro does not offer a discount to in-state students, so the average tuition and fees for all undergraduates is $19,190. This amount may be reduced if you receive financial aid. Rochester Institute of Technology did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for trade school students to get a bachelor’s degree. It came in at #7 on the list. This fairly large private not-for-profit school is located in Rochester, New York, and it awarded 2,448 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
If you want to attend RIT, expect to pay an average of $53,538 in tuition and fees. Of course, this could be reduced if you receive financial aid. Bachelor’s Degree recipients from RIT accumulate an average of $24,050 in student debt by the time they complete their degree.
You may have the opportunity to take online classes at RIT. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 66% took at least some of their classes online.
Marist College ranked #8 on this year’s Best Bachelor’s Degree Trade Schools in New York list. Located in Poughkeepsie, New York, the medium-sized private not-for-profit school handed out 1,289 bachelor’s degree awards in 2021-2022.
Marist does not offer a discount to in-state students, so the average tuition and fees for all undergraduates is $44,560. This amount may be reduced if you receive financial aid. By the time they get their bachelor’s degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $23,562 in student loans.

Molloy College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for trade school students to get a bachelor’s degree. It came in at #9 on the list. Rockville Centre, New York is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out bachelor’s degrees to 910 students in 2021-2022.
The average tuition and fees at Molloy is $36,030. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid. By the time they get their bachelor’s degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $24,950 in student loans.

SUNY Empire State College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for trade school students to get a bachelor’s degree. It came in at #18 on the list. SUNY Empire is a medium-sized public school situated in Saratoga Springs, New York. It awarded 2,036 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at SUNY Empire is $7,630. Out-of-state students pay an average of $17,540. On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $19,832 in loans while pursuing their degree.
