Our analysis looked at 151 schools in the Middle Atlantic Region to see which bachelor's degree programs offered the best educational experiences for trade school students.

Our 2023 rankings named Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute the best school in the Middle Atlantic Region for trade school students working on their bachelor’s degree. Located in Troy, New York, the medium-sized private not-for-profit school awarded 1,566 diplomas to qualifed bachelor’s degree students in 2021-2022.
The average tuition and fees at RPI is $60,074. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid. On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $22,160 in loans while pursuing their degree.
The excellent bachelor’s degree programs at Elizabethtown College helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the best trade school schools in the Middle Atlantic Region . Elizabethtown College is a small private not-for-profit school located in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania that handed out 417 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
If you want to attend Etown, expect to pay an average of $35,700 in tuition and fees. Of course, this could be reduced if you receive financial aid. On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $25,050 in loans while pursuing their degree.
One thing to take note of is that Etown does offer online classes in some areas. In 2020-2021 about 26% of the undergraduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
A rank of #3 on this year’s list means Georgetown University is a great place for trade school students working on their bachelor’s degree. Georgetown is located in Washington, District of Columbia and has a large student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 2,223 bachelor’s degrees to qualified students.
If you don’t receive financial aid, you can expect a bill for $62,051 to cover tuition and fees at Georgetown. The school does not offer an in-state discount. Bachelor’s Degree recipients from Georgetown accumulate an average of $15,635 in student debt by the time they complete their degree.

A rank of #4 on this year’s list means University of Pennsylvania is a great place for trade school students working on their bachelor’s degree. This large private not-for-profit school is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and it awarded 3,554 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
UPenn does not offer a discount to in-state students, so the average tuition and fees for all undergraduates is $63,452. This amount may be reduced if you receive financial aid. By the time they get their bachelor’s degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $16,106 in student loans.
You may have the opportunity to take online classes at UPenn. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 13% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2020-2021.
The excellent bachelor’s degree programs at New Jersey Institute of Technology helped the school earn the #5 place on this year’s ranking of the best trade school schools in the Middle Atlantic Region . Newark, New Jersey is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out bachelor’s degrees to 1,869 students in 2021-2022.

With a ranking of #10, Excelsior University did quite well on this year’s best schools for trade school students working on their bachelor’s degree. This fairly large private not-for-profit school is located in Albany, New York, and it awarded 2,668 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.

Excelsior University is one of the schools on our list that is primarily online. Each undergraduate student at the school took at least one class online.
Rider University ranked #11 on this year’s Best Bachelor’s Degree Trade Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region list. Lawrenceville, New Jersey is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out bachelor’s degrees to 800 students in 2021-2022.
If you want to attend Rider, expect to pay an average of $37,200 in tuition and fees. Of course, this could be reduced if you receive financial aid. By the time they get their bachelor’s degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $24,203 in student loans.

Duquesne University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for trade school students to get a bachelor’s degree. It came in at #13 on the list. Located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the medium-sized private not-for-profit school handed out 1,554 bachelor’s degree awards in 2021-2022.
On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $23,299 in loans while pursuing their degree.
Some students may be able to take online classes at Duquesne. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 38% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2020-2021.
George Washington University ranked #14 on this year’s Best Bachelor’s Degree Trade Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region list. GWU is a private not-for-profit institution located in Washington, District of Columbia. The school has a large population, and it awarded 3,466 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
The average tuition and fees at GWU is $60,946. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid. Bachelor’s Degree recipients from GWU accumulate an average of $20,763 in student debt by the time they complete their degree.

Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania ranked #15 on this year’s Best Bachelor’s Degree Trade Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region list. Located in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, the medium-sized public school handed out 1,618 bachelor’s degree awards in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from Pennsylvania pay an average of $10,507 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend SRU. Out-of-state students pay an average of $14,615. Bachelor’s Degree recipients from SRU accumulate an average of $22,667 in student debt by the time they complete their degree.

Thomas Jefferson University ranked #16 on this year’s Best Bachelor’s Degree Trade Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region list. Located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the medium-sized private not-for-profit school handed out 1,113 bachelor’s degree awards in 2021-2022.
