This report analyzed 158 schools in Pennsylvania to see which ones were the most popular undergraduate certificate programs for trade school students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our analysis found Community College of Allegheny County to be the most popular school for trade school students who want to pursue a undergraduate certificate in Pennsylvania. CCAC is a fairly large public school situated in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It awarded 539 undergraduate certificates in 2021-2022.
Students from Pennsylvania who attend CCAC full time pay an average of $8,563 in tuition and fees. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $12,223. By the time they get their undergraduate certificate, students from this school have racked up an average of $12,361 in student loans. Around 24% of those degree recipients were women.

Harrisburg Area Community College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get an undergraduate certificate. It came in at #8 on the list. Harrisburg Area Community College is a fairly large public school located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania that handed out 258 undergraduate certificates in 2021-2022.
Students from Pennsylvania who attend HACC full time pay an average of $8,565 in tuition and fees. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $10,148. On average, undergraduate certificate students take out $13,497 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 70% were women.
HACC does have options available for those who want to take online classes. You will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your specific major. During the 2020-2021 year, about 52% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
Bella Capelli Academy came in at #9 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Undergraduate Certificate Trade Schools in Pennsylvania ranking. Located in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, the very small private for-profit school awarded 207 diplomas to qualifed undergraduate certificate students in 2021-2022.
Around 97% of those degree recipients were women.
With a ranking of #10, Great Lakes Institute of Technology did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their undergraduate certificate. Erie, Pennsylvania is the setting for this very small institution of higher learning. The private for-profit school handed out undergraduate certificates to 155 students in 2021-2022.

Greater Altoona Career & Technology Center landed the #12 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular undergraduate certificate trade school programs. Located in Altoona, Pennsylvania, the very small public school awarded 100 diplomas to qualifed undergraduate certificate students in 2021-2022.
By the time they get their undergraduate certificate, students from this school have racked up an average of $13,319 in student loans. Around 52% of those degree recipients were women.
With a ranking of #13, YTI Career Institute-York did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their undergraduate certificate.
