Our analysis looked at 38 schools in New Mexico to see which programs were the most popular for trade school students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named Central New Mexico Community College the most popular school in New Mexico for trade school students working on their degree. CNM is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico and has a fairly large student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 7,939 degrees to qualified students.
On average, students take out $9,753 in loans while pursuing their degree. During the early years of their career, CNM graduates make an average of $30,582 annually. Around 63% of those degree recipients were women.
Out of the 38 schools in New Mexico that were part of this year’s ranking, San Juan College landed the # 2 spot on the list. SJC is a public institution located in Farmington, New Mexico. The school has a medium-sized population, and it awarded 1,790 degrees in 2021-2022.
On average, students take out $13,626 in loans while pursuing their degree. During the early years of their career, SJC graduates make an average of $36,738 annually. Of those students who received their degree, 68% were women.
The programs at Clovis Community College helped the school earn the #3 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular trade school schools in New Mexico. This small public school is located in Clovis, New Mexico, and it awarded 725 degrees in 2021-2022.
On average, students take out $9,828 in loans while pursuing their degree. Once they receive their degree, Clovis Community College graduates enter the workforce, making an average salary of $48,236 during the early year of their career. Of those students who received their degree, 74% were women.
A rank of #4 on this year’s list means Pima Medical Institute - Albuquerque is a great place for trade school students. Albuquerque, New Mexico is the setting for this very small institution of higher learning. The private for-profit school handed out degrees to 481 students in 2021-2022.
Degree recipients from PMI Albuquerque accumulate an average of $7,201 in student debt by the time they complete their degree.After graduating from PMI Albuquerque, students go on to jobs where they make an average of $40,267 during the early years of their career. Around 84% of those degree recipients were women.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend New Mexico State University - Dona Ana. It ranked #5 on our 2023 Most Popular Trade Schools in New Mexico list. Located in Las Cruces, New Mexico, the medium-sized public school handed out 1,277 degrees in 2021-2022.
On average, students take out $13,537 in loans while pursuing their degree. During the early years of their career, NMSU Dona Ana graduates make an average of $31,467 annually. Around 59% of those degree recipients were women.
With a ranking of #6, Olympian Academy of Cosmetology did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working. Olympian Academy of Cosmetology is a very small private for-profit school situated in Alamogordo, New Mexico. It awarded 456 degrees in 2021-2022.

Eastern New Mexico University - Roswell Campus did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students. It came in at #8 on the list. Located in Roswell, New Mexico, the small public school awarded 498 diplomas to qualifed students in 2021-2022.

With a ranking of #9, Santa Fe Community College did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working. Santa Fe Community College is a small public school located in Santa Fe, New Mexico that handed out 681 degrees in 2021-2022.

University of New Mexico - Gallup Campus came in at #13 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Trade Schools in New Mexico ranking. Gallup, New Mexico is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The public school handed out degrees to 282 students in 2021-2022.

Once they receive their degree, UNM Gallup graduates enter the workforce, making an average salary of $30,476 during the early year of their career. Around 67% of those degree recipients were women.
Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy-Albuquerque ranked #14 on this year’s Most Popular Trade Schools in New Mexico list. Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy-Albuquerque is a private for-profit institution located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The school has a very small population, and it awarded 90 degrees in 2021-2022.
By the time they get their degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $11,236 in student loans. Western New Mexico University came in at #16 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Trade Schools in New Mexico ranking. Located in Silver City, New Mexico, the small public school handed out 889 degrees in 2021-2022.

New Mexico State University - Main Campus landed the #18 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular trade school programs. Located in Las Cruces, New Mexico, the fairly large public school awarded 3,360 diplomas to qualifed students in 2021-2022.
