Our analysis looked at 54 schools in Utah to see which programs were the most popular for trade school students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named Mountainland Technical College the most popular school in Utah for trade school students working on their degree. Mountainland Technical College is a small public school situated in Lehi, Utah. It awarded 2,277 degrees in 2021-2022.
After graduating from Mountainland Technical College, students go on to jobs where they make an average of $28,245 during the early years of their career. Around 59% of those degree recipients were women.
The programs at Davis Technical College helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular trade school schools in Utah. Located in Kaysville, Utah, the small public school handed out 1,523 degrees in 2021-2022.
Once they receive their degree, Davis Tech graduates enter the workforce, making an average salary of $27,464 during the early year of their career. Around 59% of those degree recipients were women.
You’ll be in good company if you attend Western Governors University. The school came in at #3 on this year’s Most Popular Trade Schools in Utah list. This large private not-for-profit school is located in Salt Lake City, Utah, and it awarded 43,908 degrees in 2021-2022.
On average, students take out $14,535 in loans while pursuing their degree.After graduating from WGU, students go on to jobs where they make an average of $62,838 during the early years of their career. Of those students who received their degree, 69% were women.
A rank of #4 on this year’s list means Weber State University is a great place for trade school students. WSU is located in Ogden, Utah and has a large student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 6,620 degrees to qualified students.
On average, students take out $20,931 in loans while pursuing their degree. During the early years of their career, WSU graduates make an average of $46,655 annually. Around 59% of those degree recipients were women.
The programs at Utah Valley University helped the school earn the #5 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular trade school schools in Utah. Orem, Utah is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out degrees to 15,351 students in 2021-2022.
On average, students take out $18,869 in loans while pursuing their degree. Once they receive their degree, UVU graduates enter the workforce, making an average salary of $43,719 during the early year of their career. Of those students who received their degree, 44% were women.
With a ranking of #6, Salt Lake Community College did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working. Salt Lake City, Utah is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out degrees to 5,181 students in 2021-2022.
On average, students take out $9,867 in loans while pursuing their degree. During the early years of their career, Salt Lake Community College graduates make an average of $36,151 annually. Around 55% of those degree recipients were women.
Ogden-Weber Technical College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students. It came in at #7 on the list. Located in Ogden, Utah, the small public school handed out 1,019 degrees in 2021-2022.
During the early years of their career, Ogden-Weber Tech College graduates make an average of $29,478 annually. Around 58% of those degree recipients were women.
Uintah Basin Technical College ranked #8 on this year’s Most Popular Trade Schools in Utah list. Uintah Basin Technical College is a small public school located in Roosevelt, Utah that handed out 668 degrees in 2021-2022.

Bridgerland Technical College landed the #9 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular trade school programs. Bridgerland ATC is a small public school situated in Logan, Utah. It awarded 1,003 degrees in 2021-2022.

With a ranking of #10, Dixie Technical College did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working. This small public school is located in Saint George, Utah, and it awarded 690 degrees in 2021-2022.
After graduating from Dixie Tech, students go on to jobs where they make an average of $33,817 during the early years of their career. Of those students who received their degree, 40% were women.
Utah State University landed the #11 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular trade school programs. Located in Logan, Utah, the large public school handed out 6,665 degrees in 2021-2022.
Degree recipients from USU accumulate an average of $19,340 in student debt by the time they complete their degree.After graduating from USU, students go on to jobs where they make an average of $42,623 during the early years of their career. Of those students who received their degree, 59% were women.
Southwest Technical College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students. It came in at #12 on the list. This very small public school is located in Cedar City, Utah, and it awarded 399 degrees in 2021-2022.
Of those students who received their degree, 44% were women.
Snow College ranked #13 on this year’s Most Popular Trade Schools in Utah list. Located in Ephraim, Utah, the medium-sized public school awarded 1,316 diplomas to qualifed students in 2021-2022.
By the time they get their degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $7,929 in student loans. During the early years of their career, Snow College graduates make an average of $32,782 annually. Of those students who received their degree, 59% were women.
Dixie State University landed the #14 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular trade school programs. Saint George, Utah is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out degrees to 3,216 students in 2021-2022.

With a ranking of #15, Cameo College of Essential Beauty did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working. This very small private for-profit school is located in Murray, Utah, and it awarded 278 degrees in 2021-2022.
By the time they get their degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $6,484 in student loans. During the early years of their career, Cameo College of Essential Beauty graduates make an average of $19,190 annually. Around 99% of those degree recipients were women.
Tooele Technical College landed the #16 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular trade school programs. Located in Tooele, Utah, the very small public school handed out 288 degrees in 2021-2022.

Once they receive their degree, Top Nails & Hair Beauty School graduates enter the workforce, making an average salary of $22,490 during the early year of their career. Of those students who received their degree, 80% were women.
Fortis College - Salt Lake City did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students. It came in at #20 on the list. Located in Salt Lake City, Utah, the very small private for-profit school handed out 167 degrees in 2021-2022.
By the time they get their degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $16,882 in student loans. Those who take out this much in loans have to make a monthly payment of about $53 if they are on a 10-year repayment plan. Once they receive their degree, Fortis College - Salt Lake City graduates enter the workforce, making an average salary of $31,622 during the early year of their career. Of those students who received their degree, 62% were women.
With a ranking of #21, Acaydia School of Aesthetics did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working. Located in Provo, Utah, the very small private for-profit school handed out 110 degrees in 2021-2022.
Degree recipients from Acaydia School of Aesthetics accumulate an average of $8,128 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Once they receive their degree, Acaydia School of Aesthetics graduates enter the workforce, making an average salary of $20,713 during the early year of their career. Of those students who received their degree, 100% were women.
Taylor Andrews Academy of Hair Design-West Jordan ranked #22 on this year’s Most Popular Trade Schools in Utah list. Located in West Jordan, Utah, the very small private for-profit school awarded 106 diplomas to qualifed students in 2021-2022.
On average, students take out $10,488 in loans while pursuing their degree. During the early years of their career, Taylor Andrews Academy - West Jordan graduates make an average of $18,425 annually. Of those students who received their degree, 85% were women.
