Our 2023 rankings named University of Alaska Anchorage the most popular school in Alaska for trade school students working on their degree. University of Alaska Anchorage is a fairly large public school located in Anchorage, Alaska that handed out 1,895 degrees in 2021-2022.
By the time they get their degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $22,767 in student loans. Once they receive their degree, UAA graduates enter the workforce, making an average salary of $49,843 during the early year of their career. Of those students who received their degree, 60% were women.
You’ll be in good company if you attend Alaska Career College. The school came in at #2 on this year’s Most Popular Trade Schools in Alaska list. Located in Anchorage, Alaska, the very small private for-profit school handed out 215 degrees in 2021-2022.
Degree recipients from Alaska Career College accumulate an average of $9,546 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. During the early years of their career, Alaska Career College graduates make an average of $30,330 annually. Of those students who received their degree, 89% were women.
A rank of #3 on this year’s list means University of Alaska Fairbanks is a great place for trade school students. UAF is a public institution located in Fairbanks, Alaska. The school has a medium-sized population, and it awarded 1,209 degrees in 2021-2022.
On average, students take out $22,660 in loans while pursuing their degree.After graduating from UAF, students go on to jobs where they make an average of $45,077 during the early years of their career. Around 58% of those degree recipients were women.
You’ll be in good company if you attend University of Alaska Southeast. The school came in at #4 on this year’s Most Popular Trade Schools in Alaska list. UAS is a public institution located in Juneau, Alaska. The school has a small population, and it awarded 463 degrees in 2021-2022.
Degree recipients from UAS accumulate an average of $22,448 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Once they receive their degree, UAS graduates enter the workforce, making an average salary of $54,280 during the early year of their career. Of those students who received their degree, 68% were women.
A rank of #5 on this year’s list means Alaska Vocational Technical Center is a great place for trade school students. Located in Seward, Alaska, the very small public school awarded 92 diplomas to qualifed students in 2021-2022.
After graduating from AVTEC, students go on to jobs where they make an average of $34,489 during the early years of their career. Of those students who received their degree, 33% were women.
With a ranking of #6, Ilisagvik College did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working. This very small public school is located in Barrow, Alaska, and it awarded 52 degrees in 2021-2022.
Of those students who received their degree, 85% were women.
