This report analyzed 297 schools in the Middle Atlantic Region to see which ones were the most popular basic certificate programs for trade school students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named Christine Valmy International School for Esthetics, Skin Care & Makeup the most popular school in the Middle Atlantic Region for trade school students working on their basic certificate. Christine Valmy International School is a private for-profit institution located in New York, New York. The school has a very small population, and it awarded 889 basic certificates in 2021-2022.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Access Careers. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Popular Basic Certificate Trade Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region list. Access Careers is a private for-profit institution located in Hempstead, New York. The school has a very small population, and it awarded 403 basic certificates in 2021-2022.

A rank of #5 on this year’s list means Hunter Business School is a great place for trade school students working on their basic certificate. Hunter Business School is a very small private for-profit school situated in Levittown, New York. It awarded 260 basic certificates in 2021-2022.

The excellent basic certificate programs at Institute of Culinary Education helped the school earn the #5 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular trade school schools in the Middle Atlantic Region . Institute of Culinary Education is a private for-profit institution located in New York, New York. The school has a very small population, and it awarded 691 basic certificates in 2021-2022.

Long Island Nail Skin & Hair Institute did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get a basic certificate. It came in at #9 on the list. Erie 1 BOCES did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get a basic certificate. It came in at #12 on the list. Located in West Seneca, New York, the very small public school awarded 195 diplomas to qualifed basic certificate students in 2021-2022.

American Institute of Medical Sciences & Education did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get a basic certificate. It came in at #13 on the list. AIMS Education is a very small private for-profit school situated in Piscataway, New Jersey. It awarded 232 basic certificates in 2021-2022.

Advantage Career Institute landed the #14 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular basic certificate trade school programs. Advantage Career Institute is a very small private for-profit school located in Eatontown, New Jersey that handed out 171 basic certificates in 2021-2022.

National Tractor Trailer School Inc-Liverpool ranked #18 on this year’s Most Popular Basic Certificate Trade Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region list. NTTS is located in Liverpool, New York and has a very small student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 233 basic certificates to qualified students.

New Age Training came in at #23 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Basic Certificate Trade Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region ranking. New Age Training is a very small private for-profit school situated in New York, New York. It awarded 192 basic certificates in 2021-2022.
Around 87% of those degree recipients were women.
Community College of Allegheny County ranked #23 on this year’s Most Popular Basic Certificate Trade Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region list. CCAC is a fairly large public school situated in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It awarded 293 basic certificates in 2021-2022.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at CCAC is $8,563. Out-of-state students pay an average of $12,223. Of those students who received their degree, 72% were women.
CCAC does have options available for those who want to take online classes. You will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your specific major. During the 2020-2021 year, about 44% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
With a ranking of #25, Christine Valmy International School of Esthetics & Cosmetology did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their basic certificate. Located in Pine Brook, New Jersey, the very small private for-profit school handed out 275 basic certificate awards in 2021-2022.
