Our 2023 rankings named Wichita State University the most popular school in Kansas for trade school students working on their bachelor’s degree. Wichita State University is a fairly large public school located in Wichita, Kansas that handed out 2,423 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from Kansas pay an average of $8,866 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend WSU. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $18,226. On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $21,729 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 58% of those degree recipients were women.
Online courses are available at WSU, but you will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your field of interest. During the 2020-2021 year, about 60% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
The excellent bachelor’s degree programs at Kansas State University helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular trade school schools in Kansas. K -State is located in Manhattan, Kansas and has a fairly large student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 3,938 bachelor’s degrees to qualified students.
Full-time students from Kansas pay an average of $10,448 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend K -State. Out-of-state students pay an average of $26,519. On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $21,559 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 53% of those degree recipients were women.
K -State does offer online classes for certain degree levels. In fact, around 44% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2020-2021.
A rank of #2 on this year’s list means Pittsburg State University is a great place for trade school students working on their bachelor’s degree. Pittsburg State University is a medium-sized public school located in Pittsburg, Kansas that handed out 1,024 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $7,774 in tuition and fees if they attend Pitt State full time. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $19,118. By the time they get their bachelor’s degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $19,843 in student loans. Around 55% of those degree recipients were women.
One thing to take note of is that Pitt State does offer online classes in some areas. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 62% took at least some of their classes online.
You’ll be in good company if you attend Grantham University. The school came in at #4 on this year’s Most Popular Bachelor’s Degree Trade Schools in Kansas list. Located in LIttle Rock, Arkansas, the medium-sized public school awarded 569 diplomas to qualifed bachelor’s degree students in 2021-2022.
The average tuition and fees at Grantham University is $8,280. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid. By the time they get their bachelor’s degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $32,063 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 38% were women.
Grantham University is primarily an online school, so it is a great choice for returning adults and students who work full time.
Out of the 24 schools in Kansas that were part of this year’s ranking, Washburn University landed the # 5 spot on the list. Washburn University is located in Topeka, Kansas and has a medium-sized student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 843 bachelor’s degrees to qualified students.

With a ranking of #6, Fort Hays State University did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their bachelor’s degree. This fairly large public school is located in Hays, Kansas, and it awarded 3,001 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from Kansas pay an average of $5,430 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend FHSU. Out-of-state students pay an average of $15,870. FHSU does offer online classes for certain degree levels. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 48% took at least some of their classes online.
University of Kansas ranked #7 on this year’s Most Popular Bachelor’s Degree Trade Schools in Kansas list. KU is a public institution located in Lawrence, Kansas. The school has a large population, and it awarded 4,493 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $11,167 in tuition and fees if they attend KU full time. Out-of-state students pay an average of $28,035. Bachelor’s Degree recipients from KU accumulate an average of $21,064 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 55% were women.
KU does offer online classes for certain degree levels. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 57% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2020-2021.
With a ranking of #8, McPherson College did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their bachelor’s degree. McPherson College is located in McPherson, Kansas and has a very small student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 154 bachelor’s degrees to qualified students.
If you don’t receive financial aid, you can expect a bill for $33,536 to cover tuition and fees at McPherson College. The school does not offer an in-state discount. Around 38% of those degree recipients were women.
With a ranking of #9, Ottawa University - Online did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their bachelor’s degree. Ottawa University - Online is a private not-for-profit institution located in Ottawa, Kansas. The school has a very small population, and it awarded 74 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
If you don’t receive financial aid, you can expect a bill for $12,676 to cover tuition and fees at Ottawa University - Online. The school does not offer an in-state discount. On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $22,495 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 70% of those degree recipients were women.
Since Ottawa University - Online is primarily an online school, it is an excellent choice for undergraduate students who need more flexibility than what is offered at some other schools.
Friends University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get a bachelor’s degree. It came in at #10 on the list. Friends University is a small private not-for-profit school located in Wichita, Kansas that handed out 267 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
If you want to attend Friends University, expect to pay an average of $31,812 in tuition and fees. Of course, this could be reduced if you receive financial aid. Bachelor’s Degree recipients from Friends University accumulate an average of $23,595 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 61% were women.
Friends University does have options available for those who want to take online classes. You will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your specific major. During the 2020-2021 year, about 50% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
Southwestern College landed the #10 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular bachelor’s degree trade school programs. Southwestern College is a small private not-for-profit school located in Winfield, Kansas that handed out 341 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
If you want to attend SC, expect to pay an average of $36,650 in tuition and fees. Of course, this could be reduced if you receive financial aid. Ottawa University - Kansas City does not offer a discount to in-state students, so the average tuition and fees for all undergraduates is $12,622. Central Christian College of Kansas ranked #13 on this year’s Most Popular Bachelor’s Degree Trade Schools in Kansas list. This very small private not-for-profit school is located in McPherson, Kansas, and it awarded 89 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.

University of Saint Mary did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get a bachelor’s degree. It came in at #16 on the list. Located in Leavenworth, Kansas, the small private not-for-profit school awarded 201 diplomas to qualifed bachelor’s degree students in 2021-2022.
University of St. Mary does not offer a discount to in-state students, so the average tuition and fees for all undergraduates is $32,540. This amount may be reduced if you receive financial aid. By the time they get their bachelor’s degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $22,405 in student loans. Around 57% of those degree recipients were women.
Some students may be able to take online classes at University of St. Mary. In fact, around 31% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2020-2021.
Sterling College landed the #16 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular bachelor’s degree trade school programs. Located in Sterling, Kansas, the very small private not-for-profit school handed out 131 bachelor’s degree awards in 2021-2022.
If you want to attend Sterling College, expect to pay an average of $30,000 in tuition and fees. Of course, this could be reduced if you receive financial aid. Of those students who received their degree, 46% were women.

Benedictine College ranked #19 on this year’s Most Popular Bachelor’s Degree Trade Schools in Kansas list. Atchison, Kansas is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out bachelor’s degrees to 501 students in 2021-2022.
The average tuition and fees at Benedictine College is $33,720. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid. On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $21,518 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 56% of those degree recipients were women.
MidAmerica Nazarene University came in at #19 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Bachelor’s Degree Trade Schools in Kansas ranking. Olathe, Kansas is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out bachelor’s degrees to 366 students in 2021-2022.
