Our analysis looked at 12 schools in Utah to see which associate degree programs were the most popular for trade school students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named Weber State University the most popular school in Utah for trade school students working on their associate degree. WSU is a public institution located in Ogden, Utah. The school has a large population, and it awarded 3,110 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from Utah pay an average of $6,391 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend WSU. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $17,084. Associate Degree recipients from WSU accumulate an average of $18,082 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 62% were women.
One thing to take note of is that WSU does offer online classes in some areas. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 47% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2020-2021.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Salt Lake Community College. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in Utah list. Salt Lake Community College is located in Salt Lake City, Utah and has a large student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 3,261 associate degrees to qualified students.
Students from Utah who attend Salt Lake Community College full time pay an average of $4,257 in tuition and fees. Out-of-state students pay an average of $13,701. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $10,066 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 61% were women.

You’ll be in good company if you attend Utah State University. The school came in at #4 on this year’s Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in Utah list. Logan, Utah is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associate degrees to 1,092 students in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from Utah pay an average of $8,305 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend USU. Out-of-state students pay an average of $24,223. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $15,964 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 69% were women.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since USU does offer online classes for certain majors. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 70% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2020-2021.
The excellent associate degree programs at Dixie State University helped the school earn the #5 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular trade school schools in Utah. Saint George, Utah is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associate degrees to 987 students in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $6,074 in tuition and fees if they attend Dixie State College full time. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $17,642. On average, associate degree students take out $16,691 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 66% were women.

Fortis College - Salt Lake City ranked #6 on this year’s Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in Utah list. Fortis College - Salt Lake City is a very small private for-profit school located in Salt Lake City, Utah that handed out 91 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
The average tuition and fees at Fortis College - Salt Lake City is $16,255. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid. On average, associate degree students take out $29,506 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 81% of those degree recipients were women.
Some students may be able to take online classes at Fortis College - Salt Lake City. In fact, around 53% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2020-2021.
Snow College ranked #7 on this year’s Most Popular Associate Degree Trade Schools in Utah list. Located in Ephraim, Utah, the medium-sized public school handed out 1,001 associate degree awards in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $4,180 in tuition and fees if they attend Snow College full time. Out-of-state students pay an average of $14,130. On average, associate degree students take out $7,236 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 59% were women.

With a ranking of #8, Southern Utah University did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their associate degree. This fairly large public school is located in Cedar City, Utah, and it awarded 1,734 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from Utah pay an average of $6,770 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend Southern Utah University. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $20,586. On average, associate degree students take out $10,004 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 57% of those degree recipients were women.
You may have the opportunity to take online classes at Southern Utah University. In fact, around 51% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2020-2021.
AmeriTech College - Draper landed the #10 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular associate degree trade school programs. AmeriTech College - Draper is a small private for-profit school located in Draper, Utah that handed out 531 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
If you don’t receive financial aid, you can expect a bill for $22,603 to cover tuition and fees at AmeriTech College - Draper. The school does not offer an in-state discount. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $23,262 in student loans. Around 89% of those degree recipients were women.
AmeriTech College - Draper does offer online classes for certain degree levels. During the 2020-2021 year, about 89% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
LDS Business College landed the #11 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular associate degree trade school programs. This small private not-for-profit school is located in Salt Lake City, Utah, and it awarded 430 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
Around 49% of those degree recipients were women.
