Our analysis looked at 90 schools in the Southwest Region to see which online programs were the most popular for trade school students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from schools with online programs.

Our 2023 rankings named University of Phoenix - Arizona the most popular school in the Southwest Region for trade school students working on their degree. Located in Phoenix, Arizona, the large private for-profit school handed out 26,013 degrees in 2021-2022.
On average, students take out $38,447 in loans while pursuing their degree. For those students on a 10-year repayment plan, the average payment due each month is around $155.After graduating from UOPX - Arizona, students go on to jobs where they make an average of $50,608 during the early years of their career. Around 69% of those degree recipients were women.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Sonoran Desert Institute. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Popular Online Trade Schools in the Southwest Region list. This small private for-profit school is located in Tempe, Arizona, and it awarded 1,360 degrees in 2021-2022.
On average, students take out $11,659 in loans while pursuing their degree.After graduating from Sonoran Desert Institute, students go on to jobs where they make an average of $62,428 during the early years of their career. Of those students who received their degree, 2% were women.
Out of the 90 schools in the Southwest Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Grand Canyon University landed the # 3 spot on the list. Located in Phoenix, Arizona, the large private for-profit school awarded 29,319 diplomas to qualifed students in 2021-2022.

The programs at Pima Medical Institute - Tucson helped the school earn the #4 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular trade school schools in the Southwest Region . A rank of #5 on this year’s list means American InterContinental University - Online is a great place for trade school students. Located in Chandler, Arizona, the fairly large private for-profit school awarded 4,536 diplomas to qualifed students in 2021-2022.

Community Care College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students. It came in at #7 on the list. Located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the very small private not-for-profit school awarded 360 diplomas to qualifed students in 2021-2022.
On average, students take out $11,873 in loans while pursuing their degree. Those who take out this much in loans have to make a monthly payment of about $81 if they are on a 10-year repayment plan. During the early years of their career, Community Care College graduates make an average of $23,950 annually. Around 96% of those degree recipients were women.
Arlington Career Institute landed the #8 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular trade school programs. Arlington Career Institute is a private for-profit institution located in Grand Prairie, Texas. The school has a very small population, and it awarded 270 degrees in 2021-2022.

Arizona State University - Skysong landed the #9 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular trade school programs. This large public school is located in Scottsdale, Arizona, and it awarded 14,649 degrees in 2021-2022.
