This report analyzed 103 schools in the Great Lakes Region to see which ones had the most popular online programs for trade school students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from schools with online programs.

The programs at DeVry University - Illinois helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular trade school schools in the Great Lakes Region . Naperville, Illinois is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The private for-profit school handed out degrees to 9,399 students in 2021-2022.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Sinclair Community College. It ranked #3 on our 2023 Most Popular Online Trade Schools in the Great Lakes Region list. Dayton, Ohio is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out degrees to 10,362 students in 2021-2022.
On average, students take out $11,437 in loans while pursuing their degree. Once they receive their degree, Sinclair Community College graduates enter the workforce, making an average salary of $32,938 during the early year of their career. Around 36% of those degree recipients were women.
Out of the 103 schools in the Great Lakes Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Northcentral Technical College landed the # 4 spot on the list. Mid-America College of Funeral Service landed the #23 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular trade school programs. Mid-America College of Funeral Service is a very small private not-for-profit school located in Jeffersonville, Indiana that handed out 74 degrees in 2021-2022.
By the time they get their degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $14,312 in student loans.After graduating from Mid-America College, students go on to jobs where they make an average of $32,865 during the early years of their career. Of those students who received their degree, 58% were women.
Franklin University landed the #25 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular trade school programs. Franklin University is located in Columbus, Ohio and has a medium-sized student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 1,832 degrees to qualified students.
