2023 Most Popular Online Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region
There are lots of options to pick from today when trying to decide which trade school program is right for you. You can choose a traditional brick and mortar school, or with the growth of online education, you can attend a school half-way across the country without even leaving your house.
To assist you in seeing some of the education options that are available to you, Trade College Search has created its Most Popular Online Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region ranking. This report analyzed 16 schools in the Rocky Mountains Region to see which ones had the most popular online associate degree programs for trade school students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from schools with online programs.

You’ll be in good company if you attend Utah Valley University. The school came in at #2 on this year’s Most Popular Online Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region list. Utah Valley University is a large public school located in Orem, Utah that handed out 4,917 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from Utah pay an average of $6,270 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend UVU. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $17,830. Associate Degree recipients from UVU accumulate an average of $12,562 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 49% were women.
During the 2020-2021 year, about 57% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
The excellent associate degree programs at Weber State University helped the school earn the #3 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular trade school schools in the Rocky Mountains Region . Ogden, Utah is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associate degrees to 3,110 students in 2021-2022.
Students from Utah who attend WSU full time pay an average of $6,391 in tuition and fees. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $17,084. On average, associate degree students take out $18,082 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 62% were women.
To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 47% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2020-2021.
A rank of #4 on this year’s list means Northern Wyoming Community College District is a great place for trade school students working on their associate degree. Northern Wyoming Community College District is a public institution located in Sheridan, Wyoming. The school has a small population, and it awarded 472 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
Students from Wyoming who attend Northern Wyoming Community College District full time pay an average of $4,830 in tuition and fees. Out-of-state students pay an average of $11,130. Associate Degree recipients from Northern Wyoming Community College District accumulate an average of $11,152 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Around 65% of those degree recipients were women.
To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 37% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2020-2021.
A rank of #5 on this year’s list means Utah State University is a great place for trade school students working on their associate degree. Located in Logan, Utah, the large public school handed out 1,092 associate degree awards in 2021-2022.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at USU is $8,305. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $24,223. On average, associate degree students take out $15,964 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 69% of those degree recipients were women.
During the 2020-2021 year, about 70% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
With a ranking of #6, Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts - Boulder did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their associate degree. This medium-sized private for-profit school is located in Boulder, Colorado, and it awarded 770 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
On average, associate degree students take out $15,323 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 62% of those degree recipients were women.
Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 96% took at least some of their classes online.

With a ranking of #7, Laramie County Community College did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their associate degree. Cheyenne, Wyoming is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associate degrees to 445 students in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $4,613 in tuition and fees if they attend LCCC full time. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $10,913. On average, associate degree students take out $13,675 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 73% were women.
During the 2020-2021 year, about 48% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
Lewis - Clark State College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get an associate degree. It came in at #8 on the list. This small public school is located in Lewiston, Idaho, and it awarded 204 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
On average, associate degree students take out $18,177 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 62% were women.
In 2020-2021 about 51% of the undergraduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
Brigham Young University - Idaho came in at #9 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Online Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region ranking. BYU - I is located in Rexburg, Idaho and has a large student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 1,895 associate degrees to qualified students.
On average, associate degree students take out $13,442 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 68% of those degree recipients were women.
Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 78% took at least some of their classes online.
Pueblo Community College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get an associate degree. It came in at #10 on the list. Pueblo, Colorado is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associate degrees to 660 students in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $4,626 in tuition and fees if they attend Pueblo Community College full time. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $16,275. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $14,253 in student loans. Around 70% of those degree recipients were women.
To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 33% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2020-2021.
Carrington College, Boise did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get an associate degree. It came in at #11 on the list. Carrington College, Boise is a very small private for-profit school located in Boise, Idaho that handed out 161 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
On average, associate degree students take out $24,434 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 86% of those degree recipients were women.
Around 33% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2020-2021.
With a ranking of #12, Arapahoe Community College did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their associate degree. This fairly large public school is located in Littleton, Colorado, and it awarded 754 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from Colorado pay an average of $4,080 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend Arapahoe Community College. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $15,502. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $15,611 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 59% were women.
Since Arapahoe Community College is primarily an online school, it is an excellent choice for undergraduate students who need more flexibility than what is offered at some other schools.
With a ranking of #13, Great Falls College Montana State University did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their associate degree. Great Falls, Montana is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associate degrees to 205 students in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $3,532 in tuition and fees if they attend Great Falls College Montana State University full time. Out-of-state students pay an average of $11,338. Around 70% of those degree recipients were women.
During the 2020-2021 year, about 65% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
Dawson Community College came in at #14 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Online Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region ranking. Glendive, Montana is the setting for this very small institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associate degrees to 105 students in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from Montana pay an average of $6,075 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend DCC. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $8,775. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $9,586 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 50% were women.
Around 59% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2020-2021.
Trinidad State Junior College ranked #14 on this year’s Most Popular Online Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region list. Trinidad State Junior College is a public institution located in Trinidad, Colorado. The school has a small population, and it awarded 241 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at Trinidad State Junior College is $5,240. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $8,360. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $12,954 in student loans. Around 63% of those degree recipients were women.
In 2020-2021 about 15% of the undergraduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
University of Providence did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get an associate degree. It came in at #16 on the list. University of Providence is a very small private not-for-profit school located in Great Falls, Montana that handed out 1 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
If you want to attend University of Providence, expect to pay an average of $27,606 in tuition and fees. Of course, this could be reduced if you receive financial aid. Of those students who received their degree, 100% were women.
If you are interested in distance education, University of Providence is an excellent choice, since the school is online.
