There are lots of options to pick from today when trying to decide which trade school program is right for you. You can choose a traditional brick and mortar school, or with the growth of online education, you can attend a school half-way across the country without even leaving your house.
To assist you in seeing some of the education options that are available to you, Trade College Search has created its Most Popular Online Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region ranking. This report analyzed 16 schools in the Rocky Mountains Region to see which ones had the most popular online associate degree programs for trade school students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from schools with online programs.

A rank of #2 on this year’s list means Utah Valley University is a great place for trade school students working on their associate degree. UVU is a public institution located in Orem, Utah. The school has a large population, and it awarded 4,917 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from Utah pay an average of $6,270 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend UVU. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $17,830. On average, associate degree students take out $12,562 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 49% were women.
Around 57% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2020-2021.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Weber State University. It ranked #3 on our 2023 Most Popular Online Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region list. WSU is a large public school situated in Ogden, Utah. It awarded 3,110 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from Utah pay an average of $6,391 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend WSU. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $17,084. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $18,082 in student loans. Around 62% of those degree recipients were women.
Around 47% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2020-2021.
The excellent associate degree programs at Northern Wyoming Community College District helped the school earn the #4 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular trade school schools in the Rocky Mountains Region . Sheridan, Wyoming is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associate degrees to 472 students in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $4,830 in tuition and fees if they attend Northern Wyoming Community College District full time. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $11,130. Associate Degree recipients from Northern Wyoming Community College District accumulate an average of $11,152 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 65% were women.
During the 2020-2021 year, about 37% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.

The excellent associate degree programs at Utah State University helped the school earn the #5 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular trade school schools in the Rocky Mountains Region . Located in Logan, Utah, the large public school awarded 1,092 diplomas to qualifed associate degree students in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from Utah pay an average of $8,305 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend USU. Out-of-state students pay an average of $24,223. On average, associate degree students take out $15,964 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 69% were women.
During the 2020-2021 year, about 70% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts - Boulder ranked #6 on this year’s Most Popular Online Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region list. This medium-sized private for-profit school is located in Boulder, Colorado, and it awarded 770 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
On average, associate degree students take out $15,323 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 62% were women.
Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 96% took at least some of their classes online.

Laramie County Community College ranked #7 on this year’s Most Popular Online Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region list. Located in Cheyenne, Wyoming, the small public school awarded 445 diplomas to qualifed associate degree students in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $4,613 in tuition and fees if they attend LCCC full time. Out-of-state students pay an average of $10,913. On average, associate degree students take out $13,675 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 73% were women.
During the 2020-2021 year, about 48% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
Lewis - Clark State College came in at #8 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Online Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region ranking. Lewis - Clark State College is located in Lewiston, Idaho and has a small student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 204 associate degrees to qualified students.
By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $18,177 in student loans. Around 62% of those degree recipients were women.
Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 51% took at least some of their classes online.

Pueblo Community College ranked #10 on this year’s Most Popular Online Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region list. This medium-sized public school is located in Pueblo, Colorado, and it awarded 660 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at Pueblo Community College is $4,626. Out-of-state students pay an average of $16,275. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $14,253 in student loans. Around 70% of those degree recipients were women.
During the 2020-2021 year, about 33% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
Carrington College, Boise ranked #11 on this year’s Most Popular Online Associate Degree Trade Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region list. Carrington College, Boise is located in Boise, Idaho and has a very small student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 161 associate degrees to qualified students.
By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $24,434 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 86% were women.

Great Falls College Montana State University landed the #13 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular associate degree trade school programs. Great Falls College Montana State University is located in Great Falls, Montana and has a small student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 205 associate degrees to qualified students.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at Great Falls College Montana State University is $3,532. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $11,338. Around 70% of those degree recipients were women.

Dawson Community College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for trade school students to get an associate degree. It came in at #14 on the list. Located in Glendive, Montana, the very small public school awarded 105 diplomas to qualifed associate degree students in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $6,075 in tuition and fees if they attend DCC full time. Out-of-state students pay an average of $8,775. On average, associate degree students take out $9,586 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 50% were women.
To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 59% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2020-2021.
With a ranking of #14, Trinidad State Junior College did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for trade school students working on their associate degree. Trinidad State Junior College is a small public school situated in Trinidad, Colorado. It awarded 241 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $5,240 in tuition and fees if they attend Trinidad State Junior College full time. Out-of-state students pay an average of $8,360. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $12,954 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 63% were women.
During the 2020-2021 year, about 15% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
University of Providence landed the #16 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular associate degree trade school programs. Located in Great Falls, Montana, the very small private not-for-profit school awarded 1 diplomas to qualifed associate degree students in 2021-2022.
University of Providence does not offer a discount to in-state students, so the average tuition and fees for all undergraduates is $27,606. This amount may be reduced if you receive financial aid. Of those students who received their degree, 100% were women.
If you are interested in distance education, University of Providence is an excellent choice, since the school is online.
