To assist you in seeing some of the education options that are available to you, Trade College Search has created its Best Value Trade School Associate Degree Schools in Utah ranking. This report analyzed 5 schools in Utah to see which ones offered the best value associate degree programs for trade school students. The goal was to highlight schools with more affordable prices than others offering similar quality experiences.
Our ranking of value is based on the quality of a program as defined in our per sticker price dollar. Specifically, our score for quality is discounted by the published tuition and fees charged by the given college. This gives the cost per unit of quality for each college. The more quality your dollar buys, the better the value.
In our regional and nationwide rankings, out-of-state tution and fees are used in our calculations. For statewide rankings, we use average in-state tuition and fees.

Our 2023 rankings named Salt Lake Community College the best value school in Utah for trade school students working on their associate degree. Located in Salt Lake City, Utah, the large public school handed out 3,261 associate degree awards in 2021-2022.
The average tuition and fees for an out-of-state undergraduate students at Salt Lake Community College are $13,701 a year. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $10,066 in student loans.
Salt Lake Community College does offer online classes for certain degree levels. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 47% took at least some of their classes online.
In addition to its best value ranking, and one of the reasons why the school is on the list, Salt Lake Community College is ranked #4 for overall quality in Utah.
Out of the 5 schools in Utah that were part of this year’s value ranking, Utah Valley University landed the # 2 spot on the list. Located in Orem, Utah, the large public school awarded 4,917 diplomas to qualifed associate degree students in 2021-2022.
Out-of-state tuition fees for undergraduate students at UVU are $17,830 per year. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $12,562 in student loans.
Depending on your major, you may be able to take online classes at UVU. In fact, around 57% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2020-2021.
UVU also took the #2 spot in our Best Associate Degree Trade Schools in Utah rankings.
The excellent associate degree programs at Weber State University helped the school earn the #3 place on this year’s ranking of the best value trade school schools in Utah. Weber State University is a large public school located in Ogden, Utah that handed out 3,110 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
The average tuition and fees for an out-of-state undergraduate students at WSU are $17,084 a year. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $18,082 in student loans.
One thing to take note of is that WSU does offer online classes in some areas. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 47% took at least some of their classes online.
WSU also took the #3 spot in our Best Associate Degree Trade Schools in Utah rankings.
A rank of #4 on this year’s list means Utah State University is a great place for trade school students working on their associate degree who want the most bang for their educational buck. USU is a large public school situated in Logan, Utah. It awarded 1,092 associate degrees in 2021-2022.
USU undergraduate students pay an average of $24,223 in tuition and fees each year. Associate Degree recipients from this school accumulate an average of $15,964 in student debt by the time they complete their degree.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since USU does offer online classes for certain majors. During the 2020-2021 year, about 70% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.

The school came in at #5 on this year’s Best Value Trade School Associate Degree Schools in Utah list. Dixie State College is located in Saint George, Utah and has a fairly large student population. Dixie State College undergraduate students pay an average of $17,642 in tuition and fees each year. On average, associate degree students take out $16,691 in loans while pursuing their degree.
