This report analyzed 20 schools in the United States to see which ones offered the best value associate degree programs for air transport students. The goal was to highlight schools with more affordable prices than others offering similar quality experiences.

Our ranking of value is based on the quality of a program as defined in our per sticker price dollar. Specifically, our score for quality is discounted by the published tuition and fees charged by the given college. This gives the cost per unit of quality for each college. The more quality your dollar buys, the better the value.

In our regional and nationwide rankings, out-of-state tution and fees are used in our calculations. For statewide rankings, we use average in-state tuition and fees.

Our 2023 rankings named Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University - Worldwide the best value school in the United States for air transportation students working on their associate degree. Embry-Riddle Worldwide is a fairly large private not-for-profit school located in the small city of Daytona Beach.

The average tuition and fees for an out-of-state undergraduate student at Embry-Riddle Worldwide are $11,185 a year. The average amount in student loans that air transport majors at Embry-Riddle Worldwide take out while working on their Associate Degree is $20,528.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around you if you attend Fox Valley Technical College. The school came in at #2 on this year’s Best Value Air Transportation Associate Degree Schools list. FVTC is a large public school located in the midsize suburb of Appleton.

The average tuition and fees for an out-of-state undergraduate student at FVTC are $6,977 a year.

On top of its placing in our value ranking, FVTC also did well on our Best Air Transportation Associate Degree Trade Schools list. It’s in the top 20% of all schools reviewed in this analysis.

Located in the remote town of Traverse City, NMC is a public school with a small student population.

NMC undergraduate students pay an average of $12,048 in tuition and fees each year. The average amount in student loans that air transport majors at NMC take out while working on their Associate Degree is $15,442.

Out of the 20 schools in the United States that were part of this year’s ranking, Community College of Allegheny County landed the # 4 spot on the list. Located in the large city of Pittsburgh, CCAC is a public college with a large student population.
