Our analysis looked at 11 schools in the Great Lakes Region to see which online basic certificate programs were the most popular for trade school students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from schools with online programs.

Our 2023 rankings named William Rainey Harper College the most popular online school in the Great Lakes Region for engineering technologies students working on their basic certificate. Harper College is a large public school located in the large suburb of Palatine.

Of the 120 students majoring in engineering tech at Harper College, 72% are male and 28% are female.

A rank of #2 on this year’s list means Sinclair Community College is a great place for engineering technologies students working on their online basic certificate. Sinclair Community College is a large public school located in the medium-sized city of Dayton.

Of the 128 students majoring in engineering tech at Sinclair Community College, 84% are male and 16% are female.
